Lions Project for Canine Companions
Lions have supported CCI since its very beginnings in Santa Rosa, CA in the 1970’s.
q LPCCI (a Lions Foundation) was formally founded in 1983 (at CCI’s suggestion) to better function as a significant provider of financial and volunteer support to CCI through Lions clubs.
q LPCCI consists of an all-volunteer board of directors, more than 575 volunteer representatives around the country, and one paid staff-person (the LPCCI National Administrator).
q LPCCI volunteer representatives provide presentations at Lions club meetings, district cabinet meetings and conventions, and at other service clubs and organizations, to increase public awareness of CCI’s program and gain financial support, puppy raisers, etc.
q Lions and Lions Clubs support LPCCI through Life and Family Life Memberships, LPCCI Fellowships, Club Memberships, Abdul and Distinguished Service Awards, various sponsorships, and fundraisers.
q Many Lions serve as CCI puppy raisers, breeder-caretakers, Chapter group members, office volunteers, and goodwill ambassadors spreading the word about CCI’s program.
q LPCCI celebrated its 25th anniversary May, 2008.
q To date LPCCI has donated more than $2.5 million to CCI.
q LPCCI needs volunteer representatives from every Lions district in every state, particularly in states where there is a CCI Regional Training Center. Please call LPCCI to learn more about it.
q Anyone who knows a Lions club member, and thinks a Lion would like to know more about the Lions Project For Canine Companions For Independence, please contact LPCCI.

25th Peace Poster Contest Theme Announced
Help us celebrate the 25th annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest by sponsoring a local school or youth group in the 2012-2013 competition. The theme for the contest is “Imagine Peace.” Lions have given millions of boys and girls a chance to express their visions of peace through this program. Contest kits will go on sale on January 15 from Club Supplies. Learn more about the contest, including how to order a kit. Each kit includes an entry form for this year’s Lions International Essay Contest for students who are visually impaired, which shares the theme “Imagine Peace.”
LCIF
Isn’t it fantastic to be a Lion and the wonderful things that we can accomplish. The people we help and services we provide? As Lions we are all part of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), with our support this past Lions year, we were able to be a part of the relief program, sending eighteen million dollars to Japan relief and funds to the local Lions clubs of the Midwest in support of their efforts that were affected by horrific tornadoes. Along with 48 individual grants that were awarded around the country totaling 2.25 million dollars to list a few. We need to remember that none of these things would be possible without all of our ongoing support to LCIF. Let’s all of us keep this program in our personal and club budgets. Keep up the good work helping others.
